Best Ever Mashed Potatoes Almost Hands-Free!
I don’t have any scientific proof but I really believe that at least one person in every family adores mashed potatoes, in our house it’s George! And with the help of a Thermomix, this recipe is so easy you can make mashed potatoes any day of the week.
Ingredients
Instructions
Peel and cut the potatoes into 1-inch chunks, trying to keep them similar in size.
Use the built-in measuring scale to add the potatoes until you reach around 1000 grams. It doesn’t have to be precise, just close.
Zero out the scale and add about 300 grams (1 ¼ to 1 ½ cups) of milk, depending on how soft you like your mash. Low-fat, whole, or fat-free milk are all good options. Add a healthy pinch of salt to start, adjusting to taste later.
Dial in 25 minutes with a temperature of 98 degrees Centigrade (208 Fahrenheit) at a speed of 1. On the stovetop, this would be just above a simmer. Stir occasionally during this time.
While the potatoes are cooking, prepare three tablespoons of butter.
Once the time is up, add the butter to the potatoes, replace the lid, and reset the machine for only 30 seconds at a speed of 3.
The result will be perfectly silky smooth and rich mashed potatoes.
Serve the mashed potatoes with a nice pad of butter in the middle to enhance the richness. Sprinkle with sea salt for added flavor.
